(Oak Creek, WI) — Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin has hired The Boerke Company to market a 13.5 acre site, at 140 E. Rawson Avenue in Oak Creek, for sale.  The land was formerly planned to house a 142,000 square-foot Goodwill Center for Work & Training building, but with Goodwill’s recent acquisition of the former Reader’s Digest building in Greendale, Goodwill’s plans for the site became obsolete.

“The purchase of the building in Greendale is going to really work out in many ways for Goodwill, which is why offering this highly visible land site in Oak Creek for sale makes a lot of sense for the current and prospective internal planning at Goodwill,” said Boerke Company Principal Jack Price, who is marketing the land site. “The 13.5 acre site is slightly elevated over surrounding parcels, which gives it great visibility and access at the highly trafficked intersection of Rawson Avenue and Howell Avenue.”

The site is 1 mile to the north of the Drexel Town Square development that will house a new Meijer store, Four Points by Sheraton, and the City of Oak Creek’s new library and City Hall, among other things. Oak Creek has also seen an influx of interest from industrial and manufacturer buyers to the area. “This Goodwill land site has some connectivity to the revitalization Oak Creek is seeing at Drexel Town Square, and the great access this site has makes it a perfect build-to-suit site for an industrial type user,” Price added.

The property is being marketed on The Boerke Company’s website, www.boerke.com, for $125,000 per acre. The marketing sheet for the listing notes that the property is currently zoned as M-1 (Manufacturing District), and has City of Oak Creek utilities located on Howell and Rawson Avenues.
