(Germantown, WI) — The Quilted Bear Restaurant & Banquet Hall, at N111 W18611 Mequon Road in Germantown, has sold and will be rebranded and undergo huge renovations under the new ownership. The sale was finalized to Project Design Management, LLC in early November 2013, who will look to rebrand and revamp the banquet hall under the new name Florian Park. The new owners also own the Country Inn & Suites near the property, and plans to create an obvious relationship between the two is already in the works.

The former Quilted Bear had been in business for nearly 30 years before it went out of business last November. The building sits on a 17+ acre property that includes scenic views, a gazebo, and a pond with a fountain, which will allow the new owners to once again make it a popular choice for weddings and gatherings. “Quilted Bear was a mainstay in this area for a long time, and when we toured the property we saw the potential for something great to happen here again”, said new owner and Managing Partner Ryan Rahl. “This area needs a high quality place to hold beautiful wedding receptions and gatherings, and we think under the new Florian Park name, menu offerings, and atmosphere that the community will love to see this facility back in business.”

The building was built in the early 1980’s and boasts two larger banquet halls, a larger parking lot with over 160 parking spaces, and great access right off of Mequon Road and Lannon Road. “It was great to see this beautiful facility sell to new ownership that sees the real potential here,” said The Boerke Company’s Tom Kohl, who represented the sellers in the transaction. “When the [Quilted] Bear closed, there was a hole left in the Germantown community, but the void left will be filled and then some when Florian Park opens.”

The new Florian Park will focus on banquets, corporate gatherings, and wedding events, but will be open to the public for holiday meals. They plan to be open for Easter 2014. Read more on this story over at JSOnline’s Tap Milwaukee Blog by clicking here.
